Commentary:

1. First time mother assisted rate for this month: 38.6%

2. Birthed before mother assisted rate for this month: 7.4%

3. First time mother induction rate for this month: 43%

4. Birthed before induction rate for this month 46.2%

5. First time mother Caesarean section rate for this month: 36.3%

6. Birthed before Caesarean section rate for this month: 46.2%

7. The rate of mothers who have birthed before having c sections is very high. There is a significant increase in this rate from November 2025, when the multiparous c section rate was 31.3% as compared to 46.2% for this month. This may also be due to limited VBAC options.

   The nulliparous assisted delivery rate is extremely high at 38.6% and shows a significant increase from the rate of 25.8% in November 2025. The c section rate for FTM is lower than in other Irish maternity hospitals, but at 36.3% is still significantly higher than it was in November 2025 when it was 25.8%.
