Commentary:

1. First time mother assisted rate for this month: 35%

2. Birthed before mother assisted rate for this month: 2.5%

3. First time mother induction rate for this month: 45%

4. Birthed before induction rate for this month 35%

5. First time mother Caesarean section rate for this month: 20%

6. Birthed before Caesarean section rate for this month: 62.5%

The c section rate for nulliparous mothers is much lower than other Irish maternity hospital, whilst the rate of multiparous mothers having c sections is extremely high. It is possible that this is a mistake, and the two figures should be transposed, but it is also possible that this reflects limited VBAC options. The induction rate for first time mothers and mothers who have birthed before is also very high.

This is one of only two hospitals that have not released a more up to date MPSS than December 2025.
